File Organizer scans folders you choose and sorts the files into a tidy structure. Nothing moves until you review a preview, collisions never overwrite, every move is journaled as it happens, and one click reverses the most recent run.
What it does
Files run through an ordered list of rules; the first match wins. Each rule says what it matches and where the file goes, optionally adding date folders or reading the file's contents, so photos can be filed by capture date, music by artist and album, and PDFs sorted into a few keyword-matched folders such as invoices and statements. A catch-all at the bottom means nothing is ever missed.
An undo journal is written atomically after every single move, so if a run is interrupted, the moves it recorded can still be put back. It can also export your own message conversations as readable markdown, one file per day per conversation.
How it treats your data
On the Mac, sorting, undo and transcript export all run on your own disk, with no account and no cloud service. An optional AI-assistant connector, if you choose to set it up, sends your rules, file paths and proposed moves to that assistant's provider; it cannot read your messages or contacts.
Where it stands
Working on the desktop; an iPhone companion is in progress.
